Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott carried out a tree plantation drive in Chandor on 23rd August 2015 wherein 39 plants of different species were planted with most of them being fruit bearing trees and a few flowering plants. Officiating Parish Priest of Chandor, Fr. Saluzinho Fernandes commenced the drive by planting the first tree which incidentally was a neem plant which is known for its medicinal qualities. All the 39 plants were sponsored with most of the sponsors being from the village itself except for two. Incidentally 32 plants were sponsored by Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott members themselves. Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott members market cleaning initiative

Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott members toiled for nearly three hours on 19th July to clean the tinto at Chandor with a power washer that really cleaned the dirty walls and floors. The work commenced at 4:30 pm and ended at nearly 7:30 pm during which time each section was cleaned meticulously. While the section where pork and sausages are sold were cleaned off the blood stains, the fish market section was rid of the slimy after remains of the fish sold there. However, the most difficult was the cleaning of the vegetable market where ants, cockroaches and other insects abounded. Ladain held at the cross on the hillock at Ghottmorod

Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott held its annual Ladain at the cross on the hillock at Ghottmorod on 29th May 2015 from 5 pm onwards. In all there were 35 people present for the ladain that included 16 members, 6 children of members, one other child, four guests of which one was a member’s wife and eight of John’s staff that carried the snacks up the hillock. The ladain was sung in Konkani by all the members and guests gifted with the talent to sing. Anthony Pereira led the singing by accompanying on a guitar. He was supported by Presley Mascarenhas, a member’s son on the saxophone and Cyrus on the violin. Pre-monsoon cleanliness drive

Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott in collaboration with the Village Panchayats of Chandor-Cavorim and Guirdolim undertook a pre-monsoon cleanliness drive in the two villages wherein plastic and glass found lying by the roadside, in gutters and in open spaces was collected. Around 33 labourers were involved in this massive cleanliness drive that started at 7 am and ended at 11:30 am. While nearly one truckload of plastic waste was collected from the two villages, one mini-truck load of glass bottles and other waste was also collected. Twelve Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott members led by the President Joe Antao were actively involved in the drive. GBE’s annual picnic held

GBE’s annual picnic held

Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott held its annual picnic for members and families on 16th May 2015 just across the Kushawati river and it was a great success as those who attended had a blast and those who did not make it missed a great event. In all 22 members were there for the picnic and two of them – Irene Antao and Sandra de Costa – brought their sons. So participation of families was minimal this year. The males dove into the river and swam around while some of them went kayaking including Irene’s son. Anthony Pereira, as usual entertained those gathered with his melodious singing.
