Christmas Party for Senior Citizens
Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott held its annual Christmas Party for senior citizens on 13th December with 134 participating. The party was once again held in the premises of the Chandor Club premises which is rapidly nearing completion. The highest number of participants were from Cavorim followed by Guirdolim and lastly by Chandor. Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott carried out a tree plantation drive in Chandor on 23rd August 2015 wherein 39 plants of different species were planted with most of them being fruit bearing trees and a few flowering plants. Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott members toiled for nearly three hours on 19th July to clean the tinto at Chandor with a power washer that really cleaned the dirty walls and floors. The work commenced at 4:30 pm and ended at nearly 7:30 pm during which time each section was cleaned meticulously. While the section where pork and sausages are sold were cleaned off the blood stains, the fish market section was rid of the slimy after remains of the fish sold there. Chandorkars have been living with the leopard for quite a long time now. People have been losing their pets to the leopards for many years now. In fact leopards have been spotted at various occasions not only on the hillock at Ghottmorod but even at Oilem Tollem. Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott held its annual Ladain at the cross on the hillock at Ghottmorod on 29th May 2015 from 5 pm onwards. In all there were 35 people present for the ladain that included 16 members, 6 children of members, one other child, four guests of which one was a member’s wife and eight of John’s staff that carried the snacks up the hillock. Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott in collaboration with the Village Panchayats of Chandor-Cavorim and Guirdolim undertook a pre-monsoon cleanliness drive in the two villages wherein plastic and glass found lying by the roadside, in gutters and in open spaces was collected. Around 33 labourers were involved in this massive cleanliness drive that started at 7 am and ended at 11:30 am. Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott held its annual picnic for members and families on 16th May 2015 just across the Kushawati river and it was a great success as those who attended had a blast and those who did not make it missed a great event. Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott got a new managing committee at the annual general body meeting held on 3rd May 2015 where Advocate Joe Antao from Guirdolim was elected the president. Of the 13 managing committee members elected 10 were members of the previous managing committee.
