Free Eye Check Up
Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott organized a free eye check-up for the residents of Guirdolim and Chandor Cavorim at the Chandor Club premises on 12th November 2022 in which 252 villagers got their eyesight checked. This programme was organized in collaboration with Matoshree Seva Dham Arogya Seva Trust from Mumbai.
While Alzira Pereira was the project manager for this programme, the following members of GBE slogged it out to make it a great success: Menino alias Minush Gomes, Esly Henriques, Maria Mascarenhas, Irene Anto, Francis eixoto, Sandeep Kalekar, Francis Coutinho and John Fernandes. John Douglas Coutinho was pillar of strength as he organized the cleaning and preparing the premises for the camp and supervised the whole project too.
While Drs Aniket Rathod and Shiraj Shaikh led the team of Matoshree Seva Trust, others from this organization were: Sunil Mulik, Jayant Mulik, Kashinath Patade, Uttej Parab and Suhas Kadam.
Of the 252 persons whose eye sight was checked, 188 were prescribed spectacles which were available there itself for a nominal fee of Rs. 160. Interestingly a GBE well wisher sponsored the spectacles for 19 villagers who got them absolutely free.
Besides providing lunch to the team of Matoshree Trust, GBE also provided for their stay in Goa and as a token of appreciation gave them some money as donation for the trust in lieu of their service to humanity.

Meanwhile, Chandor Seamen’s Association organized another free eye check up camp on 22nd November at the Guirdolim Club premises. This camp again conducted by Matoshree Seva Dham, Arogya Seva Trust had 232 people checking their eyesight of which 183 were provided spectacles.
