 Voters from the twin villages from Chandor-Cavorim, Guirdolim have to think seriously when they vote for their new Zilla Panchayat representative on 20th December 2025. Ms. Sanjana Velip, the last ZP representative of the twin villages who was backed by the BJP, did not visit the twin villages even once for the last 5 years. Also she did not spend a single rupee for any developmental work in the twin villages although she had crores of rupees to be utilized. Ex Chandor-Cavorim sarpanch Estafanio Dias personally invited Ms. Velip for the seminar the panchayat conducted on developing the village as a heritage destination.  Cecilia Jane D’Silva, hailing from Chandor, was conferred the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree by the Università degli Studi di Cassino e Lazio Meridionale (University of Cassino and Southern Lazio), Italy; in Methods, Models and Technologies in Engineering in the discipline of Electromagnetic Fields. Following her Masters in Telecommunication Engineering through the same university, she was invited to carry out research under the frameworks of the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of United Nations (UN), and the Italian Ministry of Economic Development (MISE). Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott (GBE) held its 1st Annual General body Meeting (AGM) under the leadership of a lady president on 11th October 2025, adjacent to its regular meeting place at Cavorim. In all 34 members participated in this AGM. In September 2025, Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott (GBE) undertook a project never attempted before since its formation in late 2000s; besides they also crossed the state border to visit two placed in the neighbouring state of Karnataka.  On 8th September 10 GBE members lead by president Alzira Pereira visited Beth-Beth Lehem society at Bhaire near Karwar. This society is run and managed by Fr. Salvador Coutinho who hails from Chandor. Mentally challenged and homeless people are looked after at this institute, and presently there are 27 such people housed here. Before forming this society, Fr. Chandor Club lifts Seamen’s Trophy

Chandor club lifted the Golden Jubilee Seamen’s Trophy, the second oldest inter village football tournament in Goa, by defeating Curtorim Gymkhana. They won the finals by the only goal scored against Curtorim in regular time, at the finals held on 21st September 2025.  Chandor the village that celebrate the feast of the three Magi started the Seamen’s Trophy when three seafarers – Dominic Pereira from Colloso, Caetan Xavier from Anthoi, and Zose Vincent Costa from Ponsabhat – came together to sponsor the Seamen’s Trophy in 1973.
