Traffic Island Beautified

Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott completed the beautification of the traffic island in front of the Church on the eve of the Feast of Our Lady of Bethlehem which is celebrated on 6th January every year with much pomp and grandeur.

As the tableau of the three wise men or three kings as they are known, is the highlight of this feast celebration, the traffic island was beautified with the theme of the three kings.

Bust size pictures of the three kings are placed at an angle facing three sides of the roundabout. The entire traffic island is circled with three different circles made out of natural looking laterite stones. The gaps in between are covered with plants.

While earlier Benny Fernandes was looking after this work of beautifying the traffic island, following his untimely death Domnic Mendes took over and completed the work.

Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott President John Douglas Coutinho conceptualized the design for the island and it was ratified by former president Rui da Silva who is an engineer by profession.

The village now has another asset that all its inhabitants can be proud of as the traffic island truly looks majestic.
