About Us

Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott (GBE), an organization committed to improve twin villages – Chandor-Cavorim and Guirdolim residents’ quality of life, is the 85th organization registered in 2008 with the Registrar of Societies, Goa.

Multi-Engineer including Aeronautics and Sound Rui da Silva was the Founder President of the organization that has a Managing Committee with a three-year term. The office bearers change every term with the avowed purpose of enabling others to take on the responsibility. The only exceptions being Anand Shirodkar who has served as Treasurer for four terms and Founder General Secretary Julio D’Silva who served for two consecutive terms.

GBE is today acknowledged to be responsible for keeping the twin villages clean and green as it regularly undertakes cleanliness drives including road side bush cutting and planted nearly a thousand trees in the twin villages.

A Christmas Party for senior citizens, generally held on 19th December is another much awaited activity.
GBE is the only registered organization in the twin villages to have a lady president when Alzira Fernandes was elected to the post for the 2024-2026 term.

A notable feature is that the over rupees five lakh annual budget of the organization is entirely funded by donations from its members without taking a single naya paisa from any politician!
