Chandor Crib wins at State level contest

Crib-1

The beautiful crib prepared by those living at Pallotti Jyoti Niwas at Ponsabhat in Guirdolim has won the first consolation prize at the all Goa crib competition organized by the Directorate of Art & Culture, Government of Goa making all of us proud.

The 17 seminarians and three priests living at Jyoti Niwas worked for over two months to prepare the mesmirising tableau that attracted many people from different parts of Goa.

The entire tableau consisted of leaves either stuck or stitched to create the manger, a house and other structures including plain walls. But the beauty lay in the fact that each of the leaf was painstakingly painted. They were dry leaves of wild trees around the house that were painted in different hues of green to give them a very natural look. Kudos to this gargantuan effort of the seminarians and priests who were guided by Fr. Valentino who had conceptualized the crib.

Since the inception of Jyoti Niwas at Guirdolim, the priests and seminarians have been preparing a fascinating crib and this year was one of the best prepared by them. Congratulations to all 20.
