GBE’s annual picnic held

GBE's annual picnic

Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott held its annual picnic for members and families on 16th May 2015 just across the Kushawati river and it was a great success as those who attended had a blast and those who did not make it missed a great event.

In all 22 members were there for the picnic and two of them – Irene Antao and Sandra de Costa – brought their sons. So participation of families was minimal this year.

The males dove into the river and swam around while some of them went kayaking including Irene’s son.

Anthony Pereira, as usual entertained those gathered with his melodious singing.

The food cooked by locals was much appreciated by everybody. Lunch comprised par-boiled rice with bhende and shrimp curry, dry fish kissmore, mackerel rechead and bottle gourd cooked in ross. The raw mango slices disappeared as soon as they were placed on the table.

Evening high tea was a great event as it was accompanied by holes with coconut, jiggery and channa dal filling and the all time favourite tandlam bhakri.

The picnic was good fun and great start for the host of activities to be taken up by the new managing committee of Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott
