Ladain held at the cross on the hillock at Ghottmorod

Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott held its annual Ladain at the cross on the hillock at Ghottmorod on 29th May 2015 from 5 pm onwards. In all there were 35 people present for the ladain that included 16 members, 6 children of members, one other child, four guests of which one was a member’s wife and eight of John’s staff that carried the snacks up the hillock.

The ladain was sung in Konkani by all the members and guests gifted with the talent to sing. Anthony Pereira led the singing by accompanying on a guitar. He was supported by Presley Mascarenhas, a member’s son on the saxophone and Cyrus on the violin.

Irene Antao was the project manager and did a very good job of ensuring that all present were served the snacks.

For the first time the snacks were contributed by members John Douglas Coutinho, Ligorio Fernandes, Irene Antao and Domnick Mendes. Snacks served included egg samosas, bebinca, cake and ukol’lole chonne. Tea including tea without sugar and soft drinks were also served to those present.

Once again the President Joe Antao proved to be the fittest as he climbed up the hillock effortlessly.

After the ladain prayers were offered including prayers for the Ligorio Fernandes who constructed the cross and whose grandson named after him is a life member and managing committee member of Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott.
