GBE founder members felicitated by Chandor-Cavorim Panchayat

Panchayat Day was celebrated all over Goa on 24th April 2016 and the Chandor-Cavorim Village Panchayat felicitated various people from the village including two founder members of Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott and the felicitation was done at the hands of the first citizen of the village namely Sarpanch Lucia Coutinho e da Cruz.

The following youngsters were felicitated for their brilliance in sports due to which they represented the State of Goa at national events:
1. Ms. Farrel D’Silva, daughter of Andrew from Ghottmorod for Sqay Martial Arts
2. Ms. Nebraska Antao, daughter of Babun from Igorjebhat for Sqay Martial Arts
3. Ms. Tisha Miranda, daughter of Tiago Miranda from Sailabhaty for Roller Skating
4. Master Naguesh Verenkar, son of Sudin Verenkar from Igorjebhat for Table Tennis
5. Ms. Sarah Gayle Fernandes, daughter of Luel from Cotta for Chess
6. Ms. Lugelle Fernandes, daughter of Luel from Cotta for Martial Arts.

Mrs. Matilda Dias was also felicitated for 20 years of dedicated service to the panchayat while Mrs. Marina Mendes was honoured for having served the panchayat as a lady Sarpanch thrice..
The Panchayat also felicitated John Douglas Coutinho and Julio D’Silva; both founding members of Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott and both former president and general secretary respectively of Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott for the help and support they rendered to the panchayat at all times.

The Panchayat had organized a drawing competition for the students of St. Joseph’s Educational Institute the previous day and prizes were distributed at the said function.

The competition was held in three categories, namely Std. I to Std. IV – category A, Std. V to Std. VII – category B and Std. VIII to Std. IX – category C. Following were the prize winners.
Category A: 1st Prize – Claire Mendes, 2nd Prize – Stesha Fernandes and 3rd Prize – Leanne Rodrigues;
Category B: 1st Prize – Joylon Vaz, 2nd Prize – Karanza Fernandes and 3rd Prize – Liana Luis;
Category C: 1st Prize – Vendy Fernandes, 2nd Prize – Nebraska Antao and 3rd Prize – Prevlis Cardozo.
