Chandor Club

Chandor Club at its general body meeting held on 19th April in the club premises resolved to give top most priority to collect funds so that the club premises may be completed in the next one year before the term of the current managing committee expires.

It is learnt that during the last one year the club has spent around Rs. 17,00,000/- on the building premises taking the total amount spent on it so far to around Rs. 75,00,000/-. It is learnt that the club needs another Rs. 35,00,000 to complete the premises in all aspects given the fact that the ground floor or the basement is lying bare at the moment.

Various suggestions were received at the general body on how to collect the funds and it was argued that unless the premises are completed immediately they may look old even before the formal inauguration.

The General Secretary Joy D’Silva read out his report which was much appreciated and Treasurer Thomas Pereira presented the statement of account.

The Immediate Past President Fernand Coutinho presented some documents enlisting the help extended to the club by various people during his long tenure as president of the club. He also gave a statement about his contribution to the club.
