Fellowship in August

Ganv Bhanvancho Ekvott (GBE) celebrated fellowship in the month of August, when members visited a house maintained by the Missionaries of Charity in Qupem taluka and participated in the Ganpati celebration with the Hindu brethren of the twin villages of Chandor-Cavorim and Guirdolim.

 On 25th of August 18 GBE members along with 2 children visited the home for challenged persons maintained by the Missionaries of Charity in Qupem taluka. Over 30 challenged people are cared for this house by a team led by three sisters belonging to the society.

 GBE member Ronnie D’Souza celebrated his birthday with the challenged persons, who besides the cake were also served chocolates and cookies. GBE’s inhouse minstrel Anthony Pereira along with Cypriano entertained the inmates with popular Konkani songs. Enthused by the music some inmates also belted out some songs.

 On 28th August GBE’s Catholic members visited the houses of Hindu members and some other Hindu villagers including late Bhau Verenkar, who was a founder member of the organization, to participate in Ganesh celebrations.

 In fact, they also witnessed the Ganesh pooja that was being performed at one of the houses they visited.
