Gidwon leaves behind pleasant memories
It is said that God takes away those he loves at the earliest probably so that they do not let any sin tar their character and that is exactly what happened to Claudius D’Costa more popularly known as Gidwon who breathed his last on 14th April 2024 Goa Medical College Hospital, Bambolim.
Gidwon whose elders lived for more than 90 years, passed away at the age of 74 after valiantly battling pneumonia in the intensive care unit of GMC for some time.
That he was much loved and admired in the twin villages of Guirdolim and Chandor-Cavorim was evident in the pall of gloom that descended amongst the residents of the two villages.
Gidwon was active in various activities in the village and had even contested the panchayat elections to fulfil his desire to do something for the people. Besides having served twice as President of Guirdolim Club, he was currently the assistant secretary of the club. Besides, he was also a very active member of Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott.
After retiring from service in the hospitality industry, Gidwon kept himself busy with different activities. At the time of his death, he was managing the Chandor office of Cuncolim MLA Yuri Alemao.
Though his physical presence will be missed, his cheerful disposition and friendly character will be remembered for long!
