Khell Competition organized at Chandor

Salvador Afonso’s khell “Ugdasak” won the first prize at the Traditional Carnival Khell Competition organized by Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott at Chandor on the three days of Carnival. In all there were eight khells presented.

While “Portuguese Passport” presented by Sansil from Benaulim bagged the second place, the third prize went to Victor de Fatorpa’s “Xezari”.

The competition organized in collaboration with Directorate of Art and Culture was much appreciated by the spectators who packed the multipurpose hall at Cavorim during the performances. The contest was judged by noted tiatrist Anil Kumar who hails from Chandor, along with Remmy Furtado and Philip Fijardo.

While the winners were presented cash prizes of Rs. 8,000/-, Rs. 6,000/- and Rs. 4,000/- all participating troupes were given consolation prizes of Rs. 2,000/-.
