Interacting with the Guirdolim, Chandor-Cavorim Village Panchayat members
Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott had a healthy interaction with members of the Guirdolim and Chandor-Cavorim Village Panchayats in the last threenmonths where various ideas aimed at making life easier for the inhabitants of the two villages were discussed. The Guirdolim panchayat agreed to undertake a survey of the migrants living in the village including those living in rental premises. This was decided upon in a bid to increase the revenue of the panchayat so that more funds can be collected to do more work in the village. The panchayat members disclosed that they are in the process of fitting up CCTV cameras at the hot spots in the village where people dump their garbage thus creating a mess and nuisance. Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott conducted two fund raising projects in the 2022 and both projects were hugely appreciated by the crowd as both the programmes were entertainers being a Konkani Tiatr and a Konkani Natak. Tiatr being a well known form of entertainment in the area, netted a profit of Rs. 1,09,580/- while Natak which was staged for the first time in the village did not earn any profits for the organization. On 1st May 2022 established playwright Prince Jacob’s tiatr “Apunn Apnnak Dev Somestank” was staged in the open space in front of the church and had former general secretary Basil Fernandes as the project manager. While the total expenditure on staging this tiatr was Rs. 69,350, the income was Rs. 1,78,930 thus resulting in a surplus of Rs. 1,09,580/-....

After a hiatus of two years due to the pandemic, Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott very successfully held its much awaited and very adventurous programme for members and their families, namely Discover Goa. The Project Manager Jose Coutinho truly organised a very memorable adventure for the participants and he was ably assisted by the new General Secretary Francis Coutinho who were backed by founder member and former President John Douglas Coutinho. In all 36 people participated in this adventure which was held on 10th and 11th September. Quite a number of the participants were new members who went on this trip for the first time and verily enjoyed it. Two years after the lockdown due to the pandemic which affected activities, Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott had a truly fulfilling year as revealed at its Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) held on 4th December 2022 at its regular meeting place. Some of the projects taken up after a break were a resounding success and the organization organized some projects for the first time since its inception in 2008. The enthused members including new ones also suggested a plethora of projects to be taken up next year thus promising another eventful and memorable year for GBE.
