Chandor Club at its general body meeting held on 19th April in the club premises resolved to give top most priority to collect funds so that the club premises may be completed in the next one year before the term of the current managing committee expires. It is learnt that during the last one year the club has spent around Rs. 17,00,000/- on the building premises taking the total amount spent on it so far to around Rs. 75,00,000/-. It is learnt that the club needs another Rs. 35,00,000 to complete the premises in all aspects given the fact that the ground floor or the basement is lying bare at the moment. The beautiful crib prepared by those living at Pallotti Jyoti Niwas at Ponsabhat in Guirdolim has won the first consolation prize at the all Goa crib competition organized by the Directorate of Art & Culture, Government of Goa making all of us proud. The 17 seminarians and three priests living at Jyoti Niwas worked for over two months to prepare the mesmirising tableau that attracted many people from different parts of Goa. The entire tableau consisted of leaves either stuck or stitched to create the manger, a house and other structures including plain walls. Residents of Guirdolim can now heave of sigh of relief as the Panchayat is in the process of commencing door to door plastic waste collection very soon. Ganv Bhavancho Ekvott (GBE) has been working in the two villages of Chandor-Cavorim and Guirdolim for the last more than five years on garbage management.
